Wayne Rooney´s first goal of the season was enough to edge Manchester United to a 1-0 nervy win over Roma at Old Trafford in their Champions League rematch.
The England striker collected Nani´s stabbed through ball on the run and hit a brilliant shot past Gianluca Curci after 70 minutes.
United also had the ball in the net through Cristiano Ronaldo but he was correctly ruled offside, while Nani hit the crossbar, but United were rarely comfortable in a closely fought game with the Italian side they thrashed 7-1 here last season.
