Arsene Wenger believes Sir Alex Ferguson should have been punished following his Boxing Day confrontation with referee Mike Dean.

The Manchester United manager was furious with Dean after he overruled his linesman to allow Newcastle's contentious second goal to stand.

Wenger, meanwhile, has refused to comment on Arsenal's supposed interest in Barcelona striker David Villa.

Arsenal have been linked with a January move for the Spain international, who is out of favour at the Camp Nou.

The Blues are keen to bring in extra competition for Fernando Torres.

David Platt says Manchester City may not make any signings during the January transfer window.

Roberto Mancini's assistant does not believe leading clubs are likely to consider selling their top players mid-way through the season.

Andre Villas-Boas insists there is 'no truth' in reports linking Wesley Sneijder with Tottenham.

Spurs are reported to be interested in Sneijder, who appears almost certain to leave Inter Milan next month.
