Mark Hughes claims losing is not an option for his Blackburn side on the first day of the season when they travel to Middlesbrough on Saturday.
With Blackburn´s second Premier League match being against Arsenal a week on Sunday, Hughes fears that unless his players get off to a good start at the Riverside they will be playing catch-up.
He said: "We want to hit the ground running and the first win is vitally important."
