Aston Villa manager Martin O´Neill has ruled out making a bid for Shaun Wright-Phillips but plans to further strengthen his squad before the new Barclays Premier League season begins.
O´Neill made an inquiry about the Chelsea winger during the January transfer window and has been linked with the former Manchester City player ever since. But the Irishman insisted he would not be pursuing Wright-Phillips.
O´Neill said: "I will not not go into any other specifics about who I want or don´t want to sign but rumours that we are after Shaun Wright-Phillips are not true."
