Coventry defender Arjan De Zeeuw is set to miss the start of the new season after suffering "a freak accident", according to manager Iain Dowie.
The 37-year-old, signed on a free transfer from Wigan earlier this summer, damaged his medial knee ligaments in training last week and will now have to wait a minimum of six weeks before being able to make his City bow.
"I feel for Arjan because I know how much he was looking forward to the start of the season," Dowie told the club´s official website. "It was a freak accident and we are pleased that it isn´t more serious than it is."
