Watford striker Marlon King has been rewarded for his impressive end to the season with an improved contract with the relegated Hornets.

King returned to action in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United last month after having his Premiership campaign ruined by a knee injury.

In all, the 27-year-old made just 12 league starts but scored four goals, including two in the final two games of the campaign and he has been rewarded with improved terms on his current deal at Vicarage Road, which is due to expire in the summer of 2009.
