Shrewsbury substitute Andy Cooke was the hero with a second-half brace as Gary Peters´ side saw off the MK Dons 2-1 to book their place against Bristol Rovers in the Coca-Cola League Two play-off final.

Cooke came on at half-time for Leo Fortune-West and showed great composure either side of a Keith Andrews strike to make it six games without a win in the end of season play-offs for Dons boss Martin Allen.

Allen had presided over successive defeats in the League One semi-final for Brentford in the past two years before moving to the Dons last summer and tasted defeat again to ensure that his side will start life in their new stadium in the basement division next season.
