Wigan have announced captain Arjan de Zeeuw and fellow defender David Unsworth will be released this summer.
The announcement comes just days after Unsworth´s penalty against Sheffield United helped the Latics avoid relegation from the Barclays Premiership.
New Wigan manager Chris Hutchings was quick to praise the pair after their contributions to the club, telling the club´s website, www.wiganlatics.co.uk: "Unsy has only been with us for a few months, and he did a brilliant job for us when called upon. His goal against Sheffield United will live long in the memory and its significance can never be underestimated."
