Kevin Prince-Boateng made a personal stand against racism during AC Milan’s friendly match against Pro Patria.

The Ghanaian international midfielder picked up the ball during the first-half of the clash against the fourth division minnows, and smashed it towards a section of fans who had been shouting racist abuse at the player.

Urged off the pitch by the referee, the Milan No.10 took off his shirt and walked towards the dressing room. His teammates followed, and so did the Pro Patria players as the game came to a dramatic end after just 26 minutes.

Sulley Muntari had a goal disallowed for offside prior to the incident, and also reacted to jeers from the fans in the same section at the time.

Boateng and Urby Emanuelson have since reacted on Twitter, admitting their shock that such issues and acts continue in 2013.

Boateng’s Tweet read: “Shame that these things still happen… #StopRacismforever.”

Emanuelson followed up with: “That still this kind of things can happen anno 2013.. What a shame!!!!! #StopRacism.”

Watch the incredible video of Boateng below, and don’t forget to leave your comments at the bottom of the story. We wait to see if FIFA or UEFA can follow the player’s example and make a stand against racism…
