Debuchy signs for Newcastle

Newcastle have completed the signing of France international Mathieu Debuchy.

The 27-year-old full-back has joined the Magpies from Lille for an undisclosed fee, understood to be in the region of £5million, and has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Debuchy, who has 12 senior international caps, will wear the number 26 shirt at St James' Park, but will not be included in the squad for Saturday's FA Cup third round trip to Brighton.
