QPR new boy Loic Remy has already set his sights on "greater objectives" for the future after this season's goal of avoiding relegation has been achieved.

The 26-year-old France striker joined Rangers for a club-record fee from Marseille on Tuesday, signing a four-and-a-half-year deal with Harry Redknapp's team after choosing the Barclays Premier League basement boys over Newcastle.

He said: "Harry played a big part in me coming here. I spoke to him and (chairman) Tony Fernandes at length and they made it clear they wanted me here. They gave me the right motivation to join QPR."
