Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is attracting January interest from a number of clubs, according to Sky Sports.

The 31-year-old Brazilian is keen to leave north London this transfer window, after falling well down the first-team pecking order, which has resulted in his playing time becoming limited.

Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas inherited a wealth of goalkeeping options when he arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer, with Brad Friedel, Carlo Cudicini, and Gomes all vying for the number one spot.

And, when the Portuguese tactician moved to bring in France captain Hugo Lloris to his ranks, the South American stopper's chances of regular action almost entirely diminished.

Cudicini has since moved to the MLS to link up with LA Galaxy, while Friedel and Lloris continue to be rotated for Premier League and cup competitions.

With Gomes currently third in line to the goalkeepers jersey, the Brazilian has set his sights on a transfer, and is a reported target for Serie A giants AC Milan.

However, the Rossoneri could face competition for the player's signature with a couple of unnamed Dutch clubs believed to be monitoring the Spurs stopper's situation.

Of course, Gomes enjoyed a successful spell in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven, prior to arriving in England, and would probably be open to the idea of a move back to Holland, should an offer arise.
