With a name like Carlo Costly, things are always going to be on the comical side.

And, in fairness to the Honduran hitman, he certainly made us chuckle with a cheeky goal celebration during Veria’s 2-1 win over Xanthi in the Greek Cup.

Costly, who spent time at Birmingham City on loan in 2009, fired home from close range to open the scoring after some quite disastrous goalkeeping.

And, after leaning up against the goal post, he took off his left boot, pretended to dial and then raised the shoe to his ear.

If he was telling his studs that he was going to score another goal, it certainly worked, as the 58-cap international would later head in the winner to put his side into the next round of the competition.
