Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester city have a formidable new challenger for the signature of highly promising young Spanish midfielder Isco – Bayern Munich’s next manager, Pep Guardiola.

The former Barcelona boss was this week confirmed as the successor to Jupp Heynckes at the Allianz Arena for next season and a report on Italian website calciomercato.com claims he has earmarked the Malaga star as one of his first signings.

Guardiola was hot property in European football so his interest in Isco will come as a blow to reported admirers of the 20-year-old at Stamford Bridge, Old Trafford, and the Etihad Stadium.

Recent reports had suggested Chelsea’s loan of exciting young Brazilian Lucas Piazon to the Spanish side had secured the Blues first option once he became available, stealing a march on Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, among others.

This report claims Guardiola is already starting to plan his shopping for when he takes over at the Bundesliga club, and Isco is at the top of it.
