Mexican winger Jurgen Damm has joined Manchester United for a trial, according to reports.

Goal.com cite speculation in the player’s homeland when claiming that the 20-year-old is on his way to Old Trafford, spending time with last season’s Premier League runners-up despite claims he’d be joining Real Oviedo at the start of the month.

The website goes on to claim that Damm’s trial with the Red Devils has been secured by the same agent who agreed a deal for Javier Hernandez to move to Manchester United from Club Deportivo Guadalajara in 2010.

Damm has also avoided travel problems with the help of a European passport, with a work permit not needed because his father was born in Germany.

The trial comes at the same time as Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp, with Leicester manager Nigel Pearson confirming that the versatile forward is spending time with Manchester United under manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

The move for Damm is something of a surprise however, with the youngster only starting two games thus far for Mexican second division club Estudiantes Tecos.
