Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers will be looking for an instant response from his players against Arsenal after their 3-2 humbling at the hands of Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup.
Few players are likely to survive following the defeat however, with Brad Jones making way in goal after his afternoon to forget at Boundary Park. Pepe Reina should return between the sticks after recovering from a hip injury.
In defence, Glen Johnson is set to return to action, but will find himself on the left once again with youngster Andre Wisdom retaining his spot at right back. Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger in the manager’s preferred central partnership.
Lucas Leiva is expected to add some midfield stability for Liverpool against the attacking threat of Arsenal, with Steven Gerrard and Joe Allen the other probable starters at the Emirates Stadium.
Up-front, Daniel Sturridge will again look to do his work from the flank, with Luis Suarez the main threat through the middle. And, despite looking jaded against the Latics, winger Raheem Sterling will again expect to get the nod.
Liverpool predicted line-up v Arsenal:
Pepe Reina; Andre Wisdom, Daniel Agger, Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson; Joe Allen, Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva; Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling.
