Everton boss David Moyes has been ‘lined-up’ to succeed Arsene Wenger as the next manager of Arsenal.

Metro claims the Gunners have set their sights on the Toffees chief, with the pressure mounting on Wenger following Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round.

Indeed, the report claims the Frenchman is ready to consider his position at the Emirates Stadium, and could jump ship before getting the boot in north London.

Arsenal have one final chance of silverware this season, and face German giants Bayern Munich in a crucial Champions League clash tomorrow (Tuesday) night.

Failure at Europe’s top table could make Wenger’s position untenable, according to the report, with Moyes ‘waiting in the wings’ after 11-years at the Goodison Park helm.

However, reports in The Sun today claim Arsenal are set to hand their manager a new two-year deal, with Wenger’s current contract set to expire in June 2014.

That suggests talk of Moyes taking the job is premature, despite comments from the Scotsman last week, which intimated he’ll considering his position on Merseyside at the end of the season.
