Goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa has claimed that Liverpool are one of many clubs interested in bringing him to their club in the summer.
He has suggested that The Reds made an enquiry about his availability in January - however, a deal wasn’t agreed which may now lead to other clubs preparing a move for the Ajaccio goalkeeper.
Several top clubs across Europe have been linked with the shot stopper, including AC Milan, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
The Mexican told website football.fr: "My agent had contact with Liverpool but there is nothing concrete. I hope this summer there will be some offers and I will analyse if it is the right time for me to leave Ajaccio.
"It will be difficult to choose between Liverpool, Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Inter, Bayern, Dortmund. It depends on how everything happens, I'll then choose the best one regarding all aspects."
It is believed that Brendan Rogers views Ochoa as a potential replacement for the flamboyant Pepe Reina.
The current Liverpool goalkeeper has been inconsistent since the Northern Irishman's arrival at Anfield and has been strongly linked with a return to his homeland of Spain as well as other Premier League clubs.
Ochoa currently has 50 caps for Mexico and has earned rave reviews throughout his career, having been nominated for the Ballon D'or in 2007.
Ochoa went on to say: “The idea is to play for one of the best teams. But it is hard to decide as there are five very good leagues: Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1."
