Scotland Under-21 coach Maurice Malpas believes Steven Naismith should join Arsenal if the London club offer him a deal.

The 19-year Kilmarnock player has spent the past couple of days as a guest of the Gunners along with Killie boss Jim Jefferies and chairman Michael Johnston. As yet there is no indication whether Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will follow up his interest in the Rugby Park striker but Malpas admits it would be a good move.

Malpas told PA Sport: "If Steven is asked, then it´s a move he can´t turn down because he can still develop as a player down there. And I think it will be difficult for him and Kilmarnock to turn it down."
