Former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu was the matchwinner again for Fiorentina as the Viola reclaimed fourth spot in Serie A thanks to a 2-1 victory over Catania.
The Romania frontman, who came back from injury to hit the winner in Thursday´s 1-0 UEFA Cup last-32 first-leg encounter at Rosenborg, struck the decisive goal in a 2-1 win midway through the second half.
Udinese remain sixth following their 3-1 win at second-bottom Reggina, while Sampdoria stay seventh after Cristian Maggio´s strike three minutes from time saw off neighbours Genoa.
