A last-gasp Simao free-kick sealed top spot in UEFA Cup Group B for Atletico Madrid who pipped Panathinaikos to first place with a 2-1 win.
Panathinaikos had entered the game with a 100% record in the group phase and then Dimitrios Salpigidis put them ahead in the first half only for Luis Garcia to level it after the break.
Raul Garcia was then sent off for Atletico but the hosts did not wilt and sealed victory with Simao´s free-kick.
