Dutch national team coach Marco van Basten felt the absence of key players undermined Holland in their 2-1 Euro 2008 qualifying defeat by Belarus in Minsk.
Vitali Bulyga put the hosts 1-0 up in the 49th minute and then striker Vladimir Korythko doubled the advantage in the 65th minute. Midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart pulled a goal back in the 89th minute but the Oranje were unable to muster an equaliser.
Holland played without Robin van Persie, Edwin van der Sar, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Clarence Seedorf, and Van Basten said: "When you miss four pillars of your side, you know that your team has been weakened."
