Attacking midfielder Matias Fernandez produced an inspired performance to help Villarreal register their first win in UEFA Cup Group C at the expense of Mlada Boleslav.
The Chile international was a constant threat and had a hand in setting up goals for forward Kahveci Nihat and midfielder Gonzalez Santi at the Cazorla Mestsky Stadion.
A late strike from Mlada Boleslav midfielder Noel Alexandre Mendy ensured a tense finish but Manuel Pellegrini´s side held on to claim the points.
