Ajax coach Henk ten Cate has apologised after his team laboured to beat Kozakken Boys in the Dutch Cup.
The Cup holders needed extra time to beat the Werkendam-based club 2-1.
Ten Cate said: "I want to apologise on behalf of Ajax for this non-performance. I stand here with shame. This was a collective failure and was unworthy of Ajax. I really was very annoyed."
