Rangers have confirmed that captain Barry Ferguson is struggling to be fit to face Stuttgart at Ibrox on Wednesday.
The midfielder sustained a knee injury in training at Murray Park on Monday and could be forced to miss the club´s Champions League Group E opener.
He surprisingly started Saturday´s Clydesdale Bank Premier League match against Hearts on the bench, and could not prevent a 4-2 defeat after being introduced for the second half.
