Fernando Santos has been sacked by Benfica just one game into the new Superliga season.
Santos´ men were held to a 1-1 draw at Leixoes in their opener but did beat FC Copenhagen 2-1 last Tuesday in the Champions League third qualifying round.
A club statement read: "Benfica wishes to thank the professionalism, commitment and loyalty demonstrated by Fernando Santos and his assistant Jorge Rosario during the last 13 months."
