Manchester City have rejected a bid from Turkish club Besiktas for striker Darius Vassell.
The England forward scored just three league goals in 28 starts last season and appears to have little chance of establishing himself in Sven-Goran Eriksson´s first team following the arrival of Italian striker Rolando Bianchi.
However, the club have dismissed the offer for the former Villa player who is part of a 22-man squad currently on the pre-season tour of Sweden.
