Frisk urges diving crackdown

Former referee Anders Frisk has condemned footballers for diving and called on the authorities to start taking retrospective action to stamp out cheating.

The Swede, who famously retired two years ago after a controversial Champions League clash between Chelsea and Barcelona, believes it is time video evidence was used to punish players who try to con officials.

"If they get a little touch, they dive and act as if they are dead," said Frisk. "I think it is important in these situations that the football authorities get involved and say ´we will investigate this match and then bring the player to justice´ to try to ensure he does not do it again."
