Barnsley manager Simon Davey insists his side are commanding respect from their Coca-Cola Championship rivals.

Last weekend's 2-1 home win against big-spending QPR gave the Tykes seven points from three games to breath new life into their fight against relegation.

"Queens Park Rangers came here and they thought they could outplay and outfight us. They did neither," Davey said. "Charlton probably knew that they could not outplay us so they set up differently and made it very, very difficult for us."

He added: "Sometimes you just need to give the opposition the respect they deserve and there are always another eleven players and a manager trying to stop you."
