Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins is optimistic of securing a deal to bring Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury back to Glanford Park.

The 18-year-old has been playing for England Under-19s in the European Championships in Ukraine but now the tournament has finished Adkins has stepped up his attempts to sign the Londoner on loan. Lansbury made 13 appearances for the Iron last season, scoring four goals in the process.

Adkins told the Scunthorpe Telegraph: "I have been on the phone to Arsenal again. I am still hopeful of bringing Henri back to Glanford Park on loan this season."



He added: "But he has not returned from Ukraine yet and will probably need a rest for a few days when he does."
