West Ham boss Sam Allardyce is looking for the right response from his side when they head to Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Hammers were well below par on Tuesday night as they crashed to yet another late goal at Upton Park, going down 1-0 to Ipswich to end their seven-match unbeaten run. But Allardyce is expecting far better when they head through the Blackwall Tunnel to south London.

"We have really got to work at our game and put it behind us at Crystal Palace on Saturday by finishing the week off with some points," he said.

"We bounced back from losing to Cardiff with a win at Doncaster. Palace will be a tougher game than that but based on our away form and results then I expect us to be better than we were against Ipswich and that will give us an opportunity to get a result.

"We have put huge pressure on ourselves to try to go and win. I certainly want to see a better performance there."
