Swansea's talented teenage midfielder Joe Allen has committed his immediate future to the Championship club by signing a new three-year deal.

The highly-rated 19-year-old established himself in the first team last season and also won his first international cap with Wales when he played in last month`s friendly 1-0 win against Estonia. Allen is eager to benefit from the arrival of new boss Paolo Sousa - who was one of the best creative midfielders in his era - when he returns for pre-season training at the Liberty Stadium.

"I'm thrilled to be signing a longer deal. I love playing for the club and I believe there are exciting times ahead," Allen told the club's official website.

"I've been lucky with my last two managers because both of them have been two former midfielders.

"I think all the players are excited about working under the new manager and I`m sure I will benefit greatly from his experience as a player and a coach."
