Plymouth manager Paul Sturrock has been frustrated in his attempts to off-load some of his players with a view to bringing in new recruits.

Argyle already have six players out on loan at the moment, while record signing Steve MacLean has been told he can leave Home Park.

MacLean, who has been linked with a move to Scottish outfit Hearts, has made just four first team appearances but Sturrock revealed as yet there have been no offers tabled.

“Steve and I had a chat and in end I just feel it is time for Steve to move on. But as yet nothing has happened,” said Sturrock.

Sturrock also says he is prepared to allow fellow striker George Donnelly to go out on loan.

He added: “George has got an awful lot in his game which we are going to keep working hard on.

“He has some exceptional pace, but he still has parts of the game to learn – his movement and his relationship with another striker.

“I would love to get him out and get him some competitive football. I am still looking for that scenario. We have had two or three enquiries, so we are weighing them up.”
