Talks regarding the future of Plymouth will continue this week.

Argyle chairman Paul Stapleton has confirmed that board member Yasuaki Kagami's bid to acquire a controlling interest in the club will come under further discussion with George Synan - a director of Mr Kagami's Tokyo-based Shonan Management Corporation (SMC).

Japanese businessman Kagami is SMC's president and has been a director of the Pilgrims since April last year.

"George is coming over for further talks with the board this week," said Stapleton, who is keen to wrap up matters so the Pilgrims can set their sights on next season's Championship campaign.

"There have been delays, but not of our making. We really want to set our focus on the new season, on making sure we compete in the Championship for the sixth season running.

"We've got to do what's best for the football club. That's why we're taking our time - we have to make sure the football club is protected. My personal opinion is that, if anything is concluded, it won't be before the board meeting on June 15."
