Coventry have been dealt an injury blow with the news David Bell may require fresh surgery on his ankle.

Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman gambled in playing Bell in Sunday's 2-1 win over Ipswich, and the winger is now facing another spell on the sidelines.

"I think we are going to have to bite the bullet," Coleman told the Coventry Telegraph.

"We'll have a conversation with his surgeon and be guided by him as to what we're going to do and when, but it looks as if we're going to have to pull him out and get some more surgery on his ankle.

"That could put him out for a month to six weeks, but the sooner we get him in for the op, the sooner he'll be back. He's shown he's a quality player, but he'll be even better when we can sort him out."

Coleman has also ruled out a move for Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson, who was on loan at the Ricoh last season.
