Birmingham boss Alex McLeish's injury woes continue to mount ahead of the trip to Barnsley with the realisation that Marcus Bent could face three to four weeks on the sidelines.

The striker had to leave the pitch after just 18 minutes of Saturday's 1-0 win over Southampton with a suspected hamstring tear and, although it is yet to be confirmed, initial concerns are that it will be the end of the month before he returns.

Cameron Jerome struggled with cramp towards the end of the encounter at the weekend but he should be okay, with Carlos Costly likely to be his partner in attack.

Garry O'Connor could force his way onto the bench as he continues his recovery from a groin operation while leading goalscorer Kevin Phillips (hamstring) is also close to a return but is not expected to feature.
