Blackpool boss Ian Holloway has been hit by the loss of defender Neal Eardley ahead of the home clash with Crystal Palace.

The Wales international sustained a hamstring injury in Tuesday`s 3-0 defeat at Sheffield United and is set for a period on the sidelines.

His place could go to Andy Butler while centre-half Ian Evatt is working his way back to fitness after a knee injury and comes into contention to face the Eagles.

Left-back Stephen Crainey played the full 90 minutes at Bramall Lane, just 10 days after suffering a knee problem that looked as if it may require surgery.

Algeria international Hameur Bouazza has been dogged by a groin problem since the African Nations Cup and is set to remain sidelined.

Palace will be without Claude Davis.

The Jamaican defender, who had just returned from suspension, starts a three-match ban after he was sent off during Tuesday night's home defeat by Leicester.

Fellow centre-half Paddy McCarthy came through a reserve game this week after nearly five months on the sidelines following shoulder surgery but he is unlikely to be risked from the start, so Matt Lawrence is set for a recall.

Boss Paul Hart has further problems in defence after young right-back Nathaniel Clyne was forced off in midweek with a groin injury.

Lee Hills is on stand-by to come in at left-back with Danny Butterfield switching to the right if Clyne fails a late fitness check.
