Good first touch, wasn't it?...

Sheffield United boss Kevin Blackwell paid tribute to Jamie Ward after the striker came off the bench to make an immediate impact in the 3-2 FA Cup third round replay win at QPR.

The Blades were clinging on to Lee Williamson's 19th-minute strike when Ward scored with his first touch midway through the second half.

Ward then laid on a third goal for on-loan Stoke forward Richard Creswell before Rangers staged a late fightback with goals from Akos Buzsaky and Damion Stewart.

"Good first touch, wasn't it?" said Blackwell.

"We should have been two or three up by half-time so I'm glad we didn't have to rue those missed chances."
