Sheffield United's players were under orders to keep their emotions in check at the final whistle after securing a place in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Greg Halford's second-half header sealed a 1-0 win on the night and a 2-1 aggregate win over Preston, but manager Kevin Blackwell stressed the job was only half done.

Blackwell said: "I've never met a set of lads who remain so focussed on what they want. We all agreed we've won nothing yet and you could see that from the players' reaction at the final whistle."

He added: "You didn't see them on the pitch after the game running around and jumping up and down.

"They just clapped their hands and came in and we said this is just part of the job. We've got the biggest job to come now down at Wembley.

"So we shall stay focussed. We've got two weeks now to try and get the injured fit and keep the fit on their toes."
