Blues revival continues with derby win

By PA Sport  October 28, 2006
Birmingham continued their revival with a third win in eight days thanks to Gary McSheffrey´s two-goal blast in a pulsating 2-0 derby win at St Andrews.

But Tony Mowbray´s side, who finished with 10 men after Paul Robinson´s late sending-off for a reckless challenge on Damien Robinson, have only themselves to blame for failing to get any reward.

Albion created and wasted a host of decent opportunities and had two worthwhile claims for penalties rejected by referee Nigel Miller. But Blues have a new-found determination and they spurned several clear-cut chances of their own as they put their promotion challenge back on track.
