Birmingham have been told they will have to increase their offer by approximately 50% if they want to sign Greek international midfielder Angelos Basinas from Panathinaikos.Birmingham´s initial bid of approaching £400,000 for 29-year-old Basinas was rejected earlier in the week. Blues manager Steve Bruce has confirmed his interest in signing the player who was one of the stars of his country´s shock Euro 2004 triumph,But Panathinkaikos are understood to be looking for a bid of around one million euros - around £650,000 - before they agree to allow Basinas to leave.
