Bolton's bid to sign defender Paul Robinson from West Brom appears to have stalled as the two clubs are well apart in their valuation of the player.

Wanderers are believed to have made a £500,000 bid for the 30-year-old left-back but the Baggies want double that.

However, Bolton manager Gary Megson is unlikely to go much above his original offer for a player who has just 12 months remaining on his contract.

Megson, a former Baggies boss whose acrimonious relationship with West Brom chief executive Jeremy Peace does not help negotiations, is already weighing up other options.

He is also looking to strengthen other areas and is keen on Swansea's 27-year-old midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

The Dutchman has only recently recovered from a knee injury but that has not put Megson off making his move.

Bodde has also been linked with Wigan, where Swans former manager Roberto Martinez is looking to make changes to the squad he inherited from Steve Bruce.
