Peterborough have rejected an offer from an unnamed club for winger George Boyd.

Several newspapers over the weekend linked the 25-year-old, who is under contract at London Road until 2013, with a move away from the club.

Writing on the social networking site Twitter, Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony said: "We have turned down a bid but nothing new to be honest so not really a story."

He continued: "No offer accepted and no bid even near my value."

Peterborough are unlikely to want to part with Boyd having already lost last season's top scorer Craig Mackail-Smith to Brighton.

Boyd has been strongly linked with a move to Championship rivals Burnley as a replacement for new Bolton signing Chris Eagles.
