Bristol City have signed Kalifa Cisse from npower Championship rivals Reading for an undisclosed fee.
The 26-year-old, who can operate as a defensive midfielder or a centre-back, has signed a two-year deal and is reunited with manager Steve Coppell whom he played under at the Madejski Stadium.
Coppell signed Cisse from Portuguese side Boavista in the summer of 2007 and he made 83 appearances for the Royals in all competitions, scoring seven goals.
Cisse was on the fringes of the Reading squad last season making only 19 appearances, the last of which came in a defeat at Sheffield United at the end of January.
