Cardiff have again moved to dismiss talk of a second winding up order by insisting an unpaid tax bill owed to Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs will be paid on time by the end of January.
A first winding up order was dismissed by the High Court in December after the club agreed a payment plan with HRMC that will see all necessary funds repaid by the end of this month.
A second winding up order could be issued on February 10 should Cardiff not be able to raise the money but, despite some speculation to the contrary, the Championship outfit insist it will not come to that.
A statement on the club's official website read: "In discussions with HMRC at the end of December 2009 we confirmed that we would pay monies owing to them by the end of January 2010.
"HMRC booked a backstop date of February 10, 2010 to go back to court if for any reason we had not been able to fulfil our obligations to pay by the end of January.
"We have every confidence that all monies owing to HMRC will have been repaid by the end of January."
Club chairman Peter Ridsdale last Sunday released another statement insisting: "We are happy that Cardiff's relationships with its creditors, including HMRC, are such that we will not have any financial issues that will affect the ability of the club to continue to trade as normal in all aspects of its business."
