Bristol City striker David Clarkson has joined Brentford on a one-month loan deal.

Clarkson moved to City from Motherwell in June 2009 but has made only 29 starts for the Robins.

And City manager Keith Millen has allowed the forward to go out on loan to get regular first-team football with Uwe Rosler's League One high-flyers.

Clarkson is eligible to play for the Bees against Preston on Saturday.

Millen told City's official website: "This move allows David to go out and play some games.

"He's worked really hard in training and kept himself fit, as well as scoring regularly for the development team, and he will benefit from his loan spell with Brentford."
