West Brom head coach Roberto Di Matteo has confirmed the club have agreed personal terms with Swindon striker Simon Cox.

The battle for Cox's signature has been fierce this summer with a handful of bids being rejected, while the likes of Celtic have also been linked with the 22-year-old. But Albion won the race with an offer believed to be in the region of £2million including add-ons after Cox initially caught the eye of former Baggies boss Tony Mowbray before his switch north of the border to Parkhead.

Cox scored 32 goals in all competitions last season and Di Matteo said: "I am aware of the deal and that we have agreed terms. The player will be coming in next week for a medical. He is a very good player, has a very good scoring record and I am happy for the deal to go ahead."
