Charlton boss Alan Curbishley ripped into his team as he criticised their "abysmal" first-half display against Manchester City - even after winning a point with a shock last-gasp equaliser.

Centre-back Chris Perry emerged as Charlton´s unlikely saviour with his first goal in more than a year deep into injury time at The Valley.

Curbishley, whose side lost 4-1 at home to West Brom a fortnight earlier, admitted: "I´m a bit lost for words. We used every excuse in the book after the West Brom game and I can´t use any more. It was an abysmal first half, it totally shocked me."
