Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric admits the club`s ambitious attempt to sign Edgar Davids is hanging in the balance.

Mandaric is "a bit concerned" the player`s representatives have so far failed to respond to City`s offer for the former Holland international midfielder, who is a free agent having left Ajax in June 2008.

"It is still touch and go and it is in his hands," Mandaric told the Leicester Mercury. "I am a bit concerned the offer has been sitting there for four or five days and that Davids is not being prompt in making a decision."

He added: "But we won't let this drag on past the next couple of days."
