Southampton captain Kelvin Davis has called on his team-mates to ensure they don't hold back in the crucial final two games of the season.

Saints are in dire trouble, lying second from bottom with two games left and realistically need a win over Burnley on Saturday to stand any chance of a final-day escape from the drop.

"We have a job to do," said goalkeeper Davis.

"We have a responsibility and when we pull that shirt on on Saturday we will give 100% for Southampton Football Club," he added.

"We have to look at the state of play and see what we have to do. Obviously we need other results to go for us too, but we have Nottingham Forest on the last day so if we are still in the fight and still in with a chance then that`s what we`ve got to aim for."
